When did you first become involved with the Rodolfus Choir?
I first joined the choir back in 2018 after I did the Oxford Choral Course that summer and I had been doing the courses ever since I was about ten when I went on my first Junior Choral Course!
What do you remember about your first concert singing with the choir?
I remember having so much fun in the rehearsals and singing in such amazing venues as well as making lots of friends with other singers. We go through so much music and it’s so fun just getting to sing such a wide range of different rep every day and really test your sight singing!
Can you pick one highlight of being a member of the choir?
The sense of community it brings, you meet so many people from lots of different places who you wouldn’t be able to meet just in your local choir. I’ve really made friends for life through The Rodolfus Choir with people I just would never have met without it.
What are you up to now?
I’m now in my first year at the Royal Northern College of Music on the Vocal Studies and Opera course, so getting to sing full-time!
If you had to pick only one song to sing for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
‘It Was a Lover and His Lass’ by Finzi just because it’s such a jolly and fun song to sing!
Who are your top three composers, musicians or bands from the past and present?
Debussy, Bernstein and Abba!
Can anyone else in your family sing?
No, just me!
Where would you like to be in 10 years time?
I would want to be in either an opera company or a professional choir, not sure yet!
Have you any advice to give to our junior singers?
Sing as much as you can! Sing in as many choirs or groups as you can get into because it’s so fun and teaches you so much about music, and you’ll make lots of friends who love to sing too!
We have three office dogs at The Rodolfus Foundation. What's your favourite animal and why?
Dogs, because my dog Skippy is the best animal in the world!
