James Day, Engagement Partner from the Pimlico Music Foundation
“The whole experience was so much fun! This was because we always sang magnificent music. Some pieces I remember were by J.S. Bach, 'Do you hear the people sing' from Les Mis and 'Somewhere over the Rainbow'. My singing definitely improved over the week, and I really enjoyed learning how to look after my voice when doing a lot of singing. I made some good friends and would definitely want to go back another year. I loved the extra things too like the activities and the movie-evenings, and the tuck shop always delicious!“ - Lily
The Pimlico Musical Foundation is a local charity which helps primary school children enjoy singing great music. We run four different music programmes: offering music and singing enhancement in schools, the Pimlico Children’s Choir, the Foundation Choir and Adult Chorus. The Choral Courses have been the perfect holiday activity for our most enthusiastic children allowing them to continue their singing through the summer. When I first went on a choral course (now a long time ago!), I vividly remember Ralph Allwood stating that a week on a residential course accelerates a child’s musical development by an entire school year. Having experienced the heightened enthusiasm and musical development of PMF participants on these Choral Courses, I completely agree!
