What is the Rodolfus Choral Weekend? The Rodolfus Choral Weekend was known previously as the Adult Choral Course and has been running since 2023. It’s an opportunity for those who love singing to perform in some of London’s stunning settings.
Who is eligible to participate? All ages are welcome on the course as long as you are too old to join us on one of our Junior or Senior Choral Courses. If you are the right age for a Senior Course but none of the dates work for you, please get in touch as we may be able to accommodate you.
What is the structure of the course? We rehearse together over the first two days. On day 3, we head to Westminster Abbey to sing Evensong, and on day 4, we’ll perform a concert at St. Andrew’s Church in Holborn.
What will we be singing? The concert will involve a performance of Brahm’s Requiem. During the Evensong, we will sing an introit, Preces and Responses, psalms, canticles, an anthem, hymns, and the organ voluntary. All of the music will be sent in advance.
Are there opportunities for individual singing lessons? These will be available for £25. You will be asked to register your interest when you register for the course. There are only a limited number of these so please let us know as soon as you can.
What level of singing ability is required to attend? All abilities are welcome to attend the course. Most participants have some experience with singing in a choir; however, we have had some singers join us as first-timers, so don’t be put off from signing up if you think you are not experienced enough.
What is expected of participants in terms of preparation before the course? We will send copies of the music as well as suggested recordings to listen to, so some preparation before the course is always helpful.
How much does the course cost? The total cost of the course is £425 (plus a small card processing fee for applicants outside of the UK). Singing lessons are optional. We will provide all of the music and light refreshments during the day.
Is this course residential? No, this course isn’t residential.
What is the refund policy if I have to cancel? All fees are due Thursday 20th February 2025. If you cancel your place by the end of 19th February, we can offer a refund. If you cancel your place between 20th February and 13th March, we can offer a 50% refund. Any cancellations after Friday 14th March will not be offered a refund.
How do I pay? You can choose to pay 100% of the fees on application or 50% on application, with the remainder due by 20th February. The refund policy is the same for both options. To avoid further charges, those from the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, and all international applicants will be asked to pay 100% of the fees during the application. The refund policy is the same as those from the UK.
If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
